I just wanted to tell all my friends here on vox that my store Saidie is back up and running! I was focusing on my other store Bound. To for a minute, but I was also sketching away for some new ideas for Saidie. Now that I have finalized a few of my illustrations, they are up in my store as prints, gocco prints, cards, and moleskines. Here's a preview:

I had a pretty fun weekend. First on Saturday, one of my best friends and I went downtown to eat at Teaism, our new favorite restaurant, and we went to tangy sweet. If you've never had tangy sweet, pink berry, or mr. yogato, you must go if there is one in your area! It is so good! My BF and I determined that it kind of tastes like a mix of yogurt and italian ice. Oh and the fresh fruit! They don't use that syrupy, mushy fruit as toppings. They have the sweetest strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc! I am so craving some right now!
Anyway, enough about the froyo. I finally sucked it up and bought a gocco, I've been dying to buy one for years, and finally bought one on Ebay and it came this weekend! I bought a used one, but it came with everything, and extra ink. I spent most of sunday playing with it, its actually a lot of fun. The masters are a lot easier to make than the silkscreens I usually make with photo emulsion, and a lot quicker! But they are definatly harder to clean.
I'm working on getting Saidie back up and running soon, and this time I will be using my original artwork for my silkscreened clothing, as well as a few other printed items. <---- (here's a little peek, coming soon :)
I also made these notebooks this weekend
and listed them in my Bound. To etsy
shop. I was so excited to get that fab yellow paper in last week!
I met a friend of mine at my last job who had transferred from the west coast. When I found out she was interested in art I was so excited because none of my friends are interested in it like I am. I suggested taking her downtown to D.C. to visit some of the art galleries and I realized that I totally take living 20 mins from D.C. for granted. Growing up as a kid, many of us in the Northern VA area visit DC for the museums and such for school, and then when we got older only went there for the bars. I totally forgot how much culture there is there. Now we go down every couple of weeks, and I fall in love with D.C. all over again. She has dubbed them our "gallery crawls" and we have so much fun together, she is like my west coast counter part, we have more in common than any other person I've ever met, I'm so glad she moved here!
This weekend we are going to the National Gallery, the Corcoran and then dinner at this great place called Teaism, then we'll head over to Tangy Sweet, the best ice cream ever! For anyone who is familiar with Pinkberry, its very similar. The bonus is that my long time friend (since I was 5!) is coming with us, so I'm super excited to spend time with my 2 favorite girls this weekend, haven't seen them for a few weeks.
Then in a few more weeks, we're going to Crafty Bastards! I always say I'm going to try and sign up for it every year, but whenever it comes around, I never feel like I would have the stock to do it. But I go every year and always find great stuff.
Speaking of crafty, my Etsy shop was one of Decor8's Etsy Take Five Tuesdays this week! I feel so honored, expecially after seeing some of the other Etsians featured! If you have never seen Decor8's blog it is one of the best blogs on the web and you should totally check it out here.

Hi everyone! I know it has been a long time since I have posted here, but I was away for awhile. To make a long story
short I was working a pretty stressful, overwhelming job that didn't give me much time for Etsy. I was laid-off about a month or two ago, and it was a blessing in disguise! I love my new job and I have my life back:)
While I was at home for about a month between my two jobs, I learned the craft of bookbinding and I love it! I have set up another shop on Etsy called Bound.To. I'm still going to continue with Saidie (in fact I'm in the midst of designing some new items for the shop) but I've been focusing on my new store Bound. To and that is why my Saidie shop is empty at the moment :)
I make handbound notebooks/journals, sketchbooks, address books, and photo albums. I also print on moleskines for any of you who are moleskine fans :)
I'm going to use this blog for both Bound. To and Saidie because I already have seperate flickrs, facebook page, e-mail address, and so on. As bad as I am about keeping up my blog, I don't think I could manage two of them :)
Bound. To is also on Flickr and Facebook - Store Page and My Page.
You have to check out my new favorite shop, Garnishhome. She makes these amazing pendants (I just ordered the tree necklace and can't wait to get it!).
She makes also makes great handbags, earrings and money clips. You must take a look for some great gifts for the holidays!

So I finally got a dress form. I have been looking for one for some time but a lot of the ones I had been looking at were so expensive. One fabric store I went to was selling them for $800! I came across this one and it was exactly what I was lloking for and I got a great deal on it so I ordered it and it came in the mail the other day. I was sooooo excited! I think it really helps with the photography for my Etsy shop. I love that it isn't a size 2 too!
